I had to do various analyses as part of our project.
Module
Starting with the climate analysis and passive design aspects of a green building, you are taken through hands-on stage-by-stage simulation tasks to demonstrate the impact of solar geometry on the building façade and the indoor spaces as well as the ventilation through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.
The simulation portion of this subject includes site analysis, solar radiation analysis, shading design, overshadowing, airflow, and the envelope thermal transmittance value (ETTV) of the building facade.
Project Brief
Propose strategies to enhance the design of the building to improve results generated from part A.
Identify strategies to:
• Reduce heat-gain o Propose shading devices for any one façade (strategy 1)
o Propose changes to façade design or material options (strategy 2)
• Increase natural ventilation around the building (strategy 3)

Learning Experience
- I developed my ideas by searching up on existing buildings and searching up on case studies on a specific strategy that I wanted to implement in our current building.
- I learned how to do basic simulations like ETTV, solar, shadow, and CFD. It really tested my skills and understanding for each of the simulations
- This is related to our Revit application. How Revit plays a part in adding new elements to the building and importing them to our BIMHVACTool application.
